Research profile

In June 2022, Hiroki Tomita started his PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Reinder Coehoorn in the group of Molecular Materials and Nanosystems at the Eindhoven University of Technology. He is one of the PhD students working on the Suppressing Exciton Quenching in OLEDs: an Integrated Approach (SEQUOIA) project. His work is mainly focused on experimental analysis to reveal the exciton quenching mechanism inside OLED devices. The goal of this project is to develop an experimentally validated computational toolset for the search of OLED materials and structures with suppressed exciton quenching.

Academic background

Hiroki Tomita obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Keio University (Keio), Japan in 2019. His bachelor project theme was about the synthesis of mesoporous n-type semiconducting ZnO films for photovoltaic applications. He then participated in a Double Degree Program and studied at Keio and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden for his Master’s program. He received his M.Sc. degree from KTH in 2021 and his M.Sc. degree from Keio in 2022. Both of his Master theses were focused on CuI, p-type semiconducting material, from the perspectives of optoelectronics and photovoltaics.
