I am a researcher and practitioner specializing in entrepreneurial finance, (deep)technology entrepreneurship, and value creation in early‑stage technology ecosystems. At TU/e, my work focuses on understanding and designing financial, organizational, and strategic mechanisms that Venture Capitalists can implement to help technology ventures overcome the missing middle—the critical phase between applied research and commercialization where many deep‑tech companies stall. My research combines design science, system dynamics, and qualitative research to develop evidence‑based frameworks for venture capital and technology ventures.

My recent work includes developing a VC value‑creation framework for technology ventures, creating design principles for establishing seed‑stage deep‑tech funds, and developing sustainability evaluation tools for VCs. These efforts are grounded in empirical studies across European VC firms and build on interdisciplinary perspectives from entrepreneurial finance and technology entrepreneurship.

Alongside my academic role, I am an Investment Manager and Sustainability Officer at DeepTechXL, where I work closely with early‑stage deep-tech ventures on strategic, operational, and technological development. This dual academic–practitioner position enables me to bridge scholarship and practice, ensuring that my research contributes directly to strengthening Europe’s deep‑tech innovation ecosystem.

I hold a Master of Science in Innovation Management from Eindhoven University of Technology, complemented by a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from Tilburg University. My academic work centers on entrepreneurial finance, technology venturing, and venture capital value creation, culminating in a dissertation that develops frameworks for deep‑tech funding, sustainability assessment, and post‑investment value creation. Building on this foundation, I was a student entrepreneur via my company Easybook, gained industrialization- and project leadership experience as Raymakers and Vanderlande, and was Portfolio Manager at HighTechXL. Then, I helped set-up DeepTechXL, where I currently serve as Investment Manager and Sustainability Officer. These combined academic and professional experiences allow me to bridge rigorous research with real‑world entrepreneruship and early‑stage investment practice.
