Research profile

Hao Gao is an assistant professor with the Mixed Signal Microelectronics research group at the TU/e department of Electrical Engineering. His expertise is in Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits, with a focus at Tx/Rx and ultra-low power transceiver IC realization. In particular he focuses on Radio-frequency IC design in silicon-based technologies; Monolithic microwave IC design; Analog and mixed-signal IC design; Wireless Power Receivers; and RFID tags.

Academic background

Hao Gao received an MSc in Information Engineering from Southeast University (Nanjing, China) in 2006, and an MSc in Microelectronics from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) in 2008. He then moved to Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, the Netherlands). In 2011, he obtained his PdEng with his thesis on 'Design of RF energy harvesting for monolithic wireless sensor networks'. In 2015, he obtained his PhD with his thesis on 'Fully integrated ultra-low power mm-wave wireless sensor design methods'. After being a postdoc researcher at Delft University of Technology in 2015, he returned to TU/e to became an assistant professor with the Mixed Signal Microelectronics research group at the TU/e department of Electrical Engineering, in January 2016.
