Research profile
Paul Padilla is a PhD candidate in the Control Systems group of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. His current contribution is oriented to area of vehicle energy management, where port-based modeling approaches and operator splitting theory are used to design computationally efficient distributed optimization methods that control the power flows inside a vehicle to generate an energy-effcient operation. Moreover, he is interested in traffic-aware vehicle enery managemeent applications where comunitication with infrastruture and historical information are used to formulate optimal control problems that take into account realistic traffic conditions.
Academic background
Paul Padilla received his Msc degree in Systems and Control in 2016 at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He is a PhD candidate in the Control Systems group of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the same university. His research is conducted on the Dynamics and Control for Electrified Automotive Systems lab. He is currently involved in the EVERLASTING European projects.
