Ferenc I. Kandi is a doctoral candidate in the Biomedical Diagnostics lab within Signal Processing Systems, specializing in quantitative contrast-enhanced ultrasound analyses for the diagnosis of uterine disorders. His areas of expertise include (bio)medical image analysis for the diagnosis and prognosis of diverse organ and neurology-related disorders, based on ultrasonography, MRI and endoscopy. Image analysis, machine learning, feature analysis and quantification thereof form the foundation for this research. Within his PhD, Ferenc is actively collaborating with clinical partners in several different fields, and with industial partners across the world.

Ferenc Igor Kandi received his MSc in Signal Processing Systems in 2022 from the Electrical Engineering faculty of the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. His thesis focussed on the structural brain MRI biomarker extraction and analysis for diagnosing limbic encephalitis and major depressive disorder. Currently, Ferenc is pursuing his PhD in quantitative contrast-ultrasound dispersion imaging applications for diagnosing uterine disorders. In addition, Ferenc is involved in contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging research of the postnatal placenta, focussing on the healthy placenta and placental dysfunction.
Next to his research, Ferenc is a co-lecturer in several bachelor and master level courses, focussing on machine learning, Fourier analysis and filtering, and signal processing.
