Research profile

I started my PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in September 2025, within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, section Systems and Control Technology. My research focuses on event-based system identification, a field at the intersection of control theory, signal processing and data-driven modeling. Event-based methods provide an efficient alternative to traditional time-triggered approaches by adapting data acquisition and control actions to system dynamics, thereby reducing communication and computational demands.

My work aims to develop new identification techniques that can extract accurate dynamic models from irregularly sampled or event-driven data, with applications in resource-constrained control systems and fault detection. This research contributes to the broader goal of enabling smarter, more efficient and autonomous engineering systems.

I am part of the Systems and Control research group at TU/e, which combines theoretical development with experimental validation to advance the state of the art in modeling, estimation and control of complex dynamic systems.

Academic background

I obtained my Master of Science in Systems, Control and Robotics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, where I followed the track in Learning, Decision and Control Systems between August 2023 and June 2025. During my master’s studies, I developed a strong interest in data-driven control and system identification, which led to my current PhD research.

Before that, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering at the University of Bologna, Italy (September 2019 – December 2022). Located in the heart of the “Packaging Valley,” Bologna offers a strong collaboration between academia and local industries. This environment gave me early exposure to industry-relevant challenges and shaped my motivation to pursue industry-oriented fundamental research.
