Research profile

Darja Vrscaj, MSc. in 2014 graduated from the Research MSc Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology with a dissertation entitled Futures Studies in Responsible Research and Innovation: A Case Study on Massive Open Online Courses. After graduating, Darja worked as an Expert Trainee in Foresight and RRI at the European Parliament, Science and Technology Options Assesment Unit, where she co-established a new Scientific Foresight Service which focuses on emerging S&T and developed the method for foresight for use by the newly created Scientific Foresight Service. After that she worked as a freelance Foresight Analyst for the OECD, Science, Directorate for Technology and Innovation where she designed and carried out a foresight exercise in support of the OECD’s biennial flagship STI Outlook publication through Qualitative research on challenges, opportunities and key drivers for future science and technology (innovation) policy. Currently, she pursues a Ph.D. at the School of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences in the Technology, Innovation & Society group. Darja’s interdisciplinary research concerns the role of users in the transition from automobility to smart mobility. The research is part of a larger research program funded by both TU/e and Rijkswaterstaat/Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment. Additionally, Darja is involved in several teaching and supervising activities.
