Squad:Transforming Practices

Research focus, project topics I’d like to coach:

“In my research I focus on designing interfaces and technology to increase public awareness and participation in political and social issues. I am interested in designing for publics services, such as local public libraries, transit agencies, involving multiple stakeholders.

My PhD research focused on designing information systems about the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda of the United Nation (UN-ICTR), to support the dialogue and collaboration between people with totally politically different ideas and perspectives, and how to bring them together to still have dialogue with each other and collaborate in reconciliation in the post genocide period. This was part of The Voices from the Rwanda Tribunal project.”

"Within the squad Transforming Practices we are working with nonprofit organization Enpuls, where we try to imagine a ecological future with more sustainable energy. Currently I am working on projects for circular and inclusive cities, which focuses on addressing evnirnnmental sustainability hand in hand with social justice.”

What is your vision on education/coaching?

“As I am relatively new to teaching and coaching, I do not have very strong coaching style yet. I believe in collaborative learning rather than me directing the student. I would hope for a relationship where we are exploring or learning things together. I would like to give as much guidance as I can provide where it is needed. I am pretty open for master students to chose their own topics as long as their philosophy and vision line up with how I approach things. In the TP squad I am closely working together with Caroline Hummels. Oftentimes, we cross coach, as we see it as a learning ecosystem or learning community.”
