My work is geared towards a better understanding of the underlying physics of novel semiconductors.
Claudiu Iaru is a Doctoral Candidate in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics (PSN) group at the Applied Physics Department of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He is an experimental physicist, involved in spectroscopy of colloidal perovskite nanostructures. His work is aimed at understanding the basic physics of these materials, such as carrier-phonon interactions, in order to explain their stellar performance in applications ranging from photovoltaics to light emission.
Claudiu holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the Politehnica University of Bucharest, where he finished at the top of his class in 2013. He subsequently received his MSc in Applied Physics from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2015. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics group of the Applied Physics department at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
