Research profile

My research stems from the simple seed question, "what is the correct time to fire a fueling pellet into a nuclear fusion plasma?" This seemingly simple question has sparked a range of research topics from developing real-time methods for mixed-integer model predictive control, reduced order plasma modeling and high-fidelity plasma simulation, and value function approximation through supervised learning. 

Academic background

I began my academic career as an undergraduate mechanical engineering student at Duke University in the United States, focusing my studies on energy systems and sustainable development. After internships in the hydroelectric power and microgrid industries, I left the US to complete my MSc in the Science and Technology of Nuclear Fusion program at the TU/e. I am now completing my PhD with the Control Systems Technology group, focusing my research of control of fusion tokamaks. I am also completing my UTQ teaching certification.
