Chirag Arora is a PhD researcher at the department of Philosophy and Ethics at the Eindhoven University of Technology. His current research critically examines ethical issues related to digital health technologies and healthcare datafication. This ethical investigation includes questions concerning: privacy of users of digital health technologies, use of digital health technologies as epistemic tools, and role of consumer oriented health technologies in exacerbating power asymetrries in healthcare research as well as health policy. Chirag is particularly interested in the field of data ethics as well as social epistemology.
Chirag graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi with a Master and Bachelor degree in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology. He also graduated with distinction from the Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society Program at University of Twente, Netherlands. His thesis critically examined the notion of Internet architecture and gave a normative account of a future Internet architecture.
In 2015 stemden de VN-lidstaten in met 17 wereldwijde duurzame ontwikkelingsdoelstellingen (Sustainable Development Goals, SDG's) om armoede te beëindigen, de planeet te beschermen en voor iedereen welvaart te garanderen.
