Academic background

Andreas Pollet studied Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Obtained his BSc in 2014 in the group of Carlijn Bouten, researching the expression of different genes associated with the elastic matrix formation at different stages in life.  Continuing in the same group in collaboration with Cecilia Sahlgren he obtained his MSc in 2017 by fabricating a microfluidic device that is able to reconstitute the vessel wall under physiological conditions. During his studies he always kept a broad field of interest, this is why in September 2017 he started on the LOCATE project within the microsystems group.

Research profile

Andreas Pollet is a PhD student in the microsystems group of Jaap den Toonder. His project is called LOCATE and will focus on recreating the microvasculature inside a microfluidic device for ultrasound validation. The multidisciplinary work within the project and the broad range of related topics are an ideal match for his interests. These research interests are mainly mechanobiology, microfluidics, organ-on-a-chip technology and regenerative medicine but include many more.
