Academic background
Alireza Sheikh was born in Mashhad, Iran, in 1989. He received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 2011, the M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in communication systems engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2014, and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, in 2019. In 2017 and 2018 he was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Communications and Navigation, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Germany, and later at the SPS Group in TU/e. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the ICT Lab, in TU/e.
Research profile
My research interests include channel coding, optical communication, wireless communication, information theory, machine learning, and estimation theory. In particular, In am interested in the design of coding schemes with low complexity for the next generation communication systems.
