Alfons W.J. Bruekers

Alfons Bruekers (Nederweert 1961) received his MSc in 1986 at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). After a career of 21 years in industry (product development) he joined Eindhoven University of Technology as a managing director of the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics. At the moment he is managing director of the TU/e Strategic Areas Smart Mobility, Energy and Health. In 2017 he became managing director of TU/e Innovation Space.

Other activities are in the areas of history, archaeology and culture. He is chairman of STRABO (Stichting Regionaal Archeologisch BodemOnderzoek) and Stichting Geschiedschrijving Nederweert. He publishes articles and books on regional history and archaeology, in newspapers, monographies, magazines and social media.
