We are a team of researchers interested in how fluids flow in presence of an interface or free surface, such as in droplets or thin films. By combining theory, experiments and numerics we address fundamental fluid physics problems that find their application in biology, health or industry. We study different types of liquids, ranging from water to liquid metals to biofluids such as bacterial suspensions. To give a few examples; we exploit interfacial flows for the precise patterning of biopolymers, study how microorganisms manipulate interfacial flows to promote their own dispersal and how liquid metal droplets fragment under the influence of laser-pulse impact.
