Introductie / missie

The purpose of C3Te is to promote health-related R&D and education at various levels: through complementary, multidisciplinary health-related projects within Electrical Engineering, working in synergy with partners and participating in TU/e flagship programs.

The Center for Care & Cure Technology Eindhoven (C3Te) focuses on multi-disciplinary research and innovation in the field of healthcare. The technological strengths of the TU/e Department of Electrical Engineering play a crucial role in this work, including sensing, modeling, imaging, monitoring, minimally-invasive interventions, ICT embedded systems and ubiquitous computing.

C3Te covers a wide range of technologies in four essential areas where electrical engineering techniques and technologies can make a significant contribution: neurology, oncology, cardiology and perinatology. Each of these areas have principal researchers developing the roadmap of their area and creating connections within the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The C3Te has a strategic network of clinical collaboration and is connected to all major hospitals in the Netherlands. This creates a unique opportunity to develop innovative ideas that are ahead of the industry and exploits the flexibility and steering ability of a dynamic academic environment. The Eindhoven MedTech Innovation Center (e/MTIC) forms a strategic partnership with regional hospitals Maxima Medisch Centrum, Catharina Hospital and Kempenhaeghe. AMC, Erasmus MC and Jeroen Bosch Hospital are also important partners in clinical research. In addition, the Center has close collaboration with industrial partners and a strong track record with successful spinoffs and new healthcare ventures, which can open up additional funding opportunities.
