Mitigation of global warming needs a reduction in CO2 emissions. For internal combustion engines these can be drastically reduced if sustainable fuels are used. The subject of this Design Oriented Exercise evolves around the application of these fuels in a small internal combustion engine. A small setup will be used to do experiments with different fuels. To analyse the performance a tool must be developed in Matlab. To assess the CO2 reduction potential of the provided sustainable fuels, available literarure on total life cycle emissions must be studied.
