Everywhere in daily life and society there is randomness, uncertainty. For example, we do not know in advance with certainty how many persons arrive at the Eindhoven railway station on Friday afternoon between 17.30 and 17.45, and how long they have to wait for their train. In this course you learn how to develop mathematical models that capture this kind of uncertainty, and how to analyse the involved mathematical, stochastic, processes.
