Research is part of the professional life of architects, urban designers and engineers. This course offers an overview of various types and practices of research methodology in contemporary Urbanism and Architecture. The research methodologies currently being applied in Urbanism and Architecture are closely associated to those applied in other disciplines within cultural, social, economic and environmental sciences, while often addressing existing societal challenges. Students will conduct a systematic literature review on a topic of their interest and will distinguish and argue the differences in context and research methodologies reported in verbal, visual and textual components.
