Nanoscale materials exhibit unique structural, optical, and electrical properties due to quantum effects and random fluctuations. They are utilized in everyday devices, including semiconductor chips, solar cells, and electronic displays. This course will teach students about the physics of nanomaterials, with a focus on the changes that occur when transitioning from bulk materials to the nanoscale. Additionally, the course will introduce conceptual, computational, and experimental methods used to explore nanomaterials' properties. Students will also have the opportunity to visit university labs to observe these tools in action.
