Omschrijving

Information theory was invented by Claude E. Shannon in 1948 as a mathematical theory for data communication. It has since become a well-established discipline with a wide range of applications, including data compression and storage, wired and wireless communications, statistical inference and machine learning, to name a few. In this course, you will learn the basic concepts of information theory and some of their primary applications. You will learn about entropy and mutual information, their application to data compression and data communication, and more.
