In Educational Design Research (EDR), you will work in a studio with fellow students to develop educational materials for a client. During the course, you will go through one educational design cycle.First, you will map out the practical problem in the specific context and with the help of scientific literature. You translate this exploration into a problem statement, goals, and design principles for the educational material, which you then design, implement and evaluate in practice. Based on the results, you will formulate recommendations for a redesign and a implementation advice. With an intermediate and final presentations and a public-friendly summary, you share the outcomes for a larger audience.
There are plenary teaching meetings on all steps in this development and evaluation process. The studios are supervised by ESoE teachers and researchers. Throughout the project, there are moments for exchange and presentations of intermediate products; at the end, you present the development and evaluation process and its results to an audience of teachers, researchers and representatives from the professional field.
