Condensed matter at the nanoscale



The regular version of this course is taught in Q1. It is also possible to follow this in Q3 but please note that more online and self-study is required here. In this course unusual physical phenomena occurring at the nanoscale will be discussed, such as quantization of electronic transport. The lectures will give a first glimpse into the creation, characterisation and properties of nanostructures. The important role of nanoscale materials and quantum phenomena for future applications such as quantum computing and renewable energy will be highlighted.
