Omschrijving

Acquiring professional skills in cooperation (coaching) and planning (project planning) is important for future engineers. Also reflecting in the own role as a tutor is important. A good way to learn these skills is by acting as a tutor in Challenge  Based Learning (CBL) – team projects in the bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
This course consists of a training on tutoring and of tutoring in practice. During tutoring the skills will be applied and improved. The tutor reflects on this twice during the course; once halfway through and once at the end of the course. In both cases it is a self-reflection in the format of a personal report report.

The course consists of the following:
Training tutoring
  • Roles and tasks of the tutor
  • Motivation of groups and guiding a group process
  • Dealing with difficult situations
  • Giving and receiving feedback
  • Guidance and assessment of professional skills
  • Preparing the first meeting: practical issues, goals and expectations

It is mandatory for tutors to participate in the  training day that takes place the week before the quartile starts! If you cannot attend the training day, you cannot register for the 4WM00 course. The training daysare planned in the week   prior to the start of the new quartile.

  • Attend case introduction
  • Attend instructions with regard to professional skills (if applicable)

  • Writing personal reflection reports

Assessment of tutors
