This course provides an introduction into the molecular principles of biochemistry and biotechnology. The development of drugs, tissue engineering, diseases: you can only understand them thoroughly and find solutions if you understand the molecular causes. The first part involves peptide and protein structure, enzyme mechanisms and kinetics. The second part involves the information flow in a cell: from DNA to protein. Finally, the translation from biochemistry to practical application will be discussed. The course entails both theoretical and practical elements.
