BeschrijvingCyber security has never been more prominently present in the media as it is today says Jaya Baloo, CISO at KPN. The costs to defend ourselves are increasing while it seems to be getting easier to set up large attacks. This asks for fundamental solutions which we can only realize if we work together instead of fighting on our own. That is why KPN has created the fifth consecutive European Cyber Security Perspectives report, which is published on April 23, 2018. Several M&CS scientists contributed to this year’s report. Tanja Lange, Professor of Cryptology at Eindhoven University of Technology, takes a look at what the future might have in store for us. In her contribution she writes about the future of cryptology and the impact of quantum computers. Furthermore, Jack van Wijk, Professor of Visualization, and Sandro Etalle, Professor of Embedded Systems Security, shine their light on the possibilities of the visualization tool EventPad which is developed by PhD candidate Bram Cappers.
