Beschrijving

Understanding pollutant dispersion in the urban and maritime environment is essential for improving air quality, public health, and sustainability. This talk presents recent experimental research on pollutant transport in complex urban settings and how dispersed pollutants can be re-introduced into buildings through mechanical ventilation air inlets, posing challenges for indoor air quality and occupant health. Beyond the urban context, the talk addresses vessel emissions and their impact on air quality and worker safety in maritime environments. The presentation concludes with future research goals and a discussion on the role of digital twin models in producing accurate, actionable insights that support cleaner, healthier, and more resilient urban–maritime environments.
