For mobile applications mass and efficiency are of crucial importance.
Especially for battery powered applications, it is crucial that the energy conversion is efficient with a power and torque density. However, the rare-earth materials used in these energy conversion devices are critical and for future applications needs to be sufficiently available. Therefore, a-priory to any decision whether to use a certain technology for future applications a careful analysis-off needs to be considered wheter or not to apply these materials.
