Her research focus is on international climate policy, in particular the role of technology cooperation involving developing countries. She is an atmospheric chemist and environmental scientist by background, and has worked for over ten years at the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands. She was one of the main authors of the 2018 IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5C.
