Abstract

Disturbance propagation through power systems has been given little attention in power quality research so far. Network operators are responsible for preventing and solving power quality problems, and thus knowledge about disturbance signal penetration into the network is important. The mechanism of signal propagation through power systems turns out to be simple and predictable. Only basic understanding of circuit analysis is needed for engineers to be able to make their own power quality propagation analysis.
