Abstract
Results are presented from a study of the effect of mech. surface treatments such as grinding and abrasion on properties of zirconia ceramics. Strength, phase content, and residual stress in the material were examd. These properties were measured in a profile through the material by polishing the surface away in small steps. The wear behavior of 2 types of zirconia in several wear systems was studied, and wear models were developed for these systems. [on SciFinder (R)]
