Abstract
Identity verification and record keeping obligation under the Wwft and GDPR: right to provide watermarked copy of proof of identity? Are institutions obliged to keep copies of identification documents? May a data subject object? On the distinction between the verification duty and reconstruction duty, the fundamental right to privacy and data protection in relation to the subsidiarity requirement and data minimisation principle, and inexplicable contradictory texts on the website of the Dutch DPA Autoriteit persoonsgegevens.
