Abstract
When should humans enhance themselves? We try to answer thisnquestion by engaging in a conceptual analysis of the nature of differentnactivities. We think that cognitive enhancement is morallyoriented activities, such as some when it is the case both that cognitivei.e. and that we have good reasonsnto value that point. We then argue that cognitive enhancement should namely in practice-oriented activities,nsuch as recreational activities on which little moral value or social and in some prominently goal-directed activities, such asresponsibility professions, the goal of which has significant moral we argue that the use of efficacious and relativelynsafe cognitive enhancers may even be obligatory in those highresponsibilitynprofessions under certain special circumstances.
