What do scientists value? A step towards understanding psychological determinants of responsible research practices

Research output: Contribution to conferenceAbstractAcademic

Abstract

Issues with the way we conduct science are increasingly made visible and need urgent attention. To promote better actions, we need to understand what motivates researchers to act more responsibly. Values are widely researched psychological constructs that are considered central to understanding behaviours yet understudied in terms of scientific behaviours. In this study I take a first step towards developing a list of scientific values based on the most broadly utilized and validated measure of universal human values.
