Abstract
The essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the fruit of Illicium griffithii Hook. f. et Thoms. growing wild in Vietnam was investigated by a combination of GC and GC/MS. This oil was found to contain more than 70 compounds of which (X-pinene (19.4%), linalool (19.0%), limonene (13.2%) and 1,8-cineole (9.3%) were found to predominate.
