Abstract

In the bedrooms of 17 students the CO2 concentration was measured in relation to the sleep quality. The degree of sleep depth, the amount of time awake and the sleep efficiency as a measure of sleep quality are associated with the condition of a higher and lower CO2 value. Sleep depth and sleep efficiency decreased with a CO2 value above 800ppm. For a good sleep, sleeping in a ventilated bedroom, for example through the window or the indoor door open is preferable.
