Older adults, who live in accessible homes, experience a greater sense of well-being than those living in homes that are not so accessible. Second, older adults tend to move to assisted living facilities when they do no longer feel safe and secure in their own home, or when their health declines to such an extent that professional care is needed. own home, or when their health declines to such an extent that professional care is needed2.
