Abstract
Three different linear filters are considered as a model describing the experimentally
determined triphasic impulse responses of discs. These impulse responses arc associated
with the transient visual system. Each model reveals a different feature of the system.
Unification of the models is proposed. The resulting model exhibits all the features of
the original models.
