Abstract
In this paper, a complete lab demonstration system for an ultra-low power, impulse ultra-wideband system is presented. This demonstrator is important as a proof of concept for the system for which individual components and signal processing algorithms have previously been presented. Here, a brief introduction and references to past work are used to explain the system concepts and their integration in a demonstrator. Performance results, with regards to transmit power, bit error rate and acquisition and tracking of the signal's timing, are given in this paper. These prove that it is possible to achieve 1 Mbps link over 30 metres with the proposed ultra-low power system.
