Abstract
This paper discusses some issues which hinder effective use of building performance simulation in building design, and some approaches towards better and more efficient use of this important but underutilized technology. In particular, the paper discusses the issues of quality assurance, the relative slow software developments and the limited use (usability) of building performance simulation mainly during the final stages of the building design process.
