Abstract
The problem of the microscopic effective pair interaction is discussed for two- and many-macroion colloidal plasmas. For a crystallized state of colloids with charged particles the melting curve and the minimal charge for crystallization is considered analytically for a DLVO-type of effective potential. The damping of longitudinal waves is investigated for infinite and finite sizes of colloidal crystals.
