Abstract
A method is described by which the thermotransport of oxygen in β-ziroonium has been studied. The heat of transport turns out to be 20 kcal/g-atom with a standard deviation of 2 kcal/g-atom. The periods of time which are necessary to reach a nearly-steady state distribution of the oxygen under various conditions have been calculated by a method analogous to the one given by Sawatsky and Vogt. The heat of transport of nitrogen in β-zirconium is proved to be positive.
