Abstract

In operating theaters, air quality naturally has the most attention in relation to the risk of postoperative wound infections in the patient. However, the importance of thermal comfort should not be underestimated. In this study thermal comfort in the operating theatre is determined subjective (perception) and objective (measurements) for the operating personnel. The situation is investigated in operating rooms with different ventilation systems. Starting point is a comparison with theory. Thermal comfort requirements differ among the individuals that make up the operating team.
