Abstract
This paper presents the dialogue handler of the natuml-Ianguagc speech-understanding
system SPICOS-II. The dialogue handler models the dialogue between the system and the
user. It is discussed how the dialogue handler of SPICOS-II can overcome several limitations of its predecessor by allowing various kinds of subdialogues. Some limitations
and possible extensions of our approach will also be touched upon.
