Abstract
The Cu thicknesses at which sputter-deposited coherent fcc (Fe-Co-Ni) / Cu (001) multilayers display the first, sharp, antiferromagnetic maximum in the interlayer exchange coupling were found to depend markedly on the ferromagnetic alloy concentration. The entire fcc part of the ternary Fe-Co-Ni system was investigated. The relevance to the theory of interlayer exchange is discussed.
