Abstract

The Making and Remaking of Dismissed Industrial Sites examines the transformation of former industrial areas and the implications of the design of reuse with aesthetics, context, history and memory, public space and reclamation of contaminated soils. Through a critical investigation of these specific themes, this book provides a challenging conceptual framework related to the 'sense of remaking' and 'place making' of those former industrial areas and polluted landscapes.
