Abstract

The effect was studied of pressure on the mass-transfer rate between bubbles and dense phase in the isomerization of butene on Al2O3-SiO2 catalyst. Packed bed expts. showed the reaction-rate const. is inversely proportional to pressure. Fluidized bed expts. show that after an initial decrease the no. of transfer units stays const. for ?5 bar but increases after 5 bar rather strongly
