Abstract
The chemical composition of the oil of a phenotypic variant of Cymbopogon flexuosus (Nees ex Steud) Wats., growing wild in northeast India, was investigated by GC and GClMS. Fifty compounds, representing 98.3% of the oil were identified.
The major constituent was elemicin (53.0%) while other Significant components (>3%) were limonene (11.6%), the beta-ocimenes (7.6%), camphene (4.1%) and 1-epicubenol (3.9%).
