Abstract
An investigation is presented concerning the cooling of a moving cylinder which enters a fluid through a wall. For various values of the parameters of the system temperature distributions in the cylinder and the fluid are given. The results are compared with those of the cooling of a cylinder at rest.
Finally an expression for the Nusselt number is derived.
