    Abstract

As a part of the working model the Visual Advice Centre Eindhoven (V AC-E) loans, as far as possible, low vision aids to patients for a trial period of two to three weeks before a definite advice is given. The advantages, the organisation, the experience after two and a half years, and the financial consequences of the loaner system are discussed in this paper. It is argued that the costs are recouped in a relatively short period of time and that patients benefit from a trial with loan aids
